This is a blog I should have starte 25 years ago! But their were no blogs at that time! It was the period of my life that I first got to inow God in a personal way. He sort of revealed his existence to me! And His personal concern for me, as fot all men. This was a marvelous experience, the best moment in my life, and, luckely, it did reoccur still many times since then.
At the time, I was studying biology at Untrecht’s University, in The Netherlands (also called ‘Holland’), that tiny country in Western Europe, known for it’s wind mills, wooden shoes and tulips. Wel, we have more than that. Just like America, or the US, has more than cowboys!
Since I had converted myself to the christian faith, with conviction and certainty about God’s existence, I started thinking over everything I had been tought in my biology courses. Especially the question about evolution and creation where very present in my mind, also bedcause of the fact that two of my fellow student were openly practising protestant christians and creationists. I was raised in a catholic environment, and have always stayed their, feeleng very much ‘at home’ because of the richness of this tradition and my more and more profound conviction that this is the church that was founded by Christ, the son of the living God, himself, and not by one or another reformer like Luther (with all respect for my non-catholic brothers and sisters in the christian faith!).
Another field of interest became sexuality an procreation and the moral teachning of the catholic faith. A discovered that all that was morally ‘right’ according to the church, was also biologically and ledically the most sound and healthy solution. Not only in saxualitei; also in environmental issues, fort example. So it appearde to me that living a catholic-christian life is the most healthy way of living your (sexual) life.
The last field of interest was ‘all things bio-ethics’. What can we afford to do to our onborn children? What is their status, from a biological, antropological, phylosophycal and theologiucal poit of view? XWhat do we do with the many thousends, millions of human embryo’s in the friges of our hospitals ans clinicds. And waht can we permit ourselves to do with terminal patiens in our families and in ours hospitals.
Reason enough to start thos blog and to write, put film on the web, links to interesting, sites etc. In order to avoid that you would not be informed, and that I would not ave informed you!
If you would like to support me in this effort, please let me know!!! Two prractical ways of doing so are
- praying for ‘Biofides’ evre once in a while,
- spending some of your money to this initiative.
The first, you can do by downloeding this prayer, print it in your chapel, livingroom, bedroom or where ever you want, and pray it, or let your prayers be inspired by it, every time you see it (hopefully often).
The second, you can do by making a donation via this link, a Paypall Accout with serure payement via the internet.
And lastly, give me all your feedback, in order to help me building this site in a usefull way! end an e-mail or some voice feedback to biofides (at) gmail.com. You will certainly recieve an answer!
God bless,
